The Office of the Public Prosecutor in Rio has formally laid charges against Pat Hickey and THG executive Kevin Mallon.

The indictment relates to alleged ticket touting at the Olympic games.

The charges include “supply of tickets for the purpose of touting”, false advertising, fraud, and tax evasion.

Under Brazilian law, a judge will now have to decide whether or not to pursue the charges and place the men on trial.

Mr Hickey, who has stepped aside as OCI President, is to attend a Rio police station for more questioning today.

But a statement from the Hickey family said he will be invoking his constitutional right to silence when he meets detectives.
