Today’s figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that more than 350 people are waiting for a hospital bed.
It comes after the INMO released a report today showing that more than 6,000 patients were waiting on trolleys in our hospitals last month.
The INMO Trolley Watch claims 288 people are on trolleys today with a further 81 in overflow areas of wards at hospitals across the country, bringing the total waiting for a hospital bed to 369.
St Vincent’s University Hospital in Dublin is the most overcrowded with 37 people in need of a bed, while the Tallaght Hospital, also in Dublin, has 32 people waiting.
University Hospital Limerick and Cork University Hospital both have 29 people waiting.
