There are over 400 people on trolleys in hospitals today according to nurses.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation says 47 people are waiting on a bed at University Hospital Limerick, while there are 31 patients in a similar situation at the Mater Hospital in Dublin.
In all, 407 people are on trolleys in Emergency Departments and overflow areas of wards today – up from 399 yesterday.
Of those, 331 people are on trolleys while 76 people are in overflow wards.
