Calvin Harris may no longer consider Taylor Swift his Elizabeth Bennet, but he came over all Pride and Prejudice in a romantic photo shoot for GQ magazine.
The Scottish DJ bore a striking resemblance to Colin Firth as Mr Darcy in the famous scene where he emerges from the lake in a dripping wet white shirt.
But in the aftermath of the break-up with Taylor, Calvin still had his ex on his mind – and was in a reflective mood.
Speaking to GQ magazine, he said: “It’s very difficult when something I consider so personal plays out very publicly.
“The aftermath of the relationship was way more heavily publicised than the relationship itself. When we were together, we were very careful for it not to be a media circus. She respected my feelings in that sense. I’m not good at being a celebrity.”
Referencing his recent Twitter takedown of Taylor over a song of his that she secretly wrote, he added: “When it ended, all hell broke loose. Now I see that Twitter thing as a result of me succumbing to pressure. It took me a minute to realise that none of that matters. I’m a positive guy.
“For both of us it was the wrong situation. It clearly wasn’t right, so it ended, but all of the stuff that happened afterwards…”
Calvin and Taylor dated for 15 months but parted way in June, shortly before she began dating actor Tom Hiddleston – from whom she has now split.
