Lady Gaga had to apologise for her “potty mouth” when she co-hosted the Radio 1 breakfast show – where she revealed she has recorded a duet with Florence Welch.

The singer accidentally swore, saying “this is the new shit”, while presenting the show with Nick Grimshaw.

“I apologise to those listeners, I have a potty mouth”, she said.

Gaga played her new single Perfect Illusion on the show.

And she revealed that she has recorded a duet with the Florence And The Machine star.

She said: “There’s a feature on the album that I think you will be very excited about. Me and Florence Welch did a duet together.

“I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl. You’ll see why when you see what the song is about.

“I just thought ‘who do I want to sing with?’ She’s really to me if not the best, one of the greatest vocalists in the world. She’s incredible.”

The singer has released her new single, Perfect Illusion.

The song is the first track from her upcoming fifth studio album.

She said that the track was about social media.

“The song is about why there are so many fake things around, things that appear to be real

“How do we navigate through social media?

“I’m not saying not to use your phone, I’m not that crazy. I think social media is great.

“But there’s also a lot of things that are on the internet that aren’t reality.

“People feel pressured to that perfect illusion in their real lives. This is about accepting that and letting go.”
