Lady Gaga exclaimed “I’m so embarrassed” after her father regaled listeners with tales of her early songwriting prowess and stole the limelight plugging his new cookbook during her guest hosting slot on Radio 1′s breakfast show.
DJ Nick Grimshaw invited Gaga’s father, Joe Germanotta – also known as “Papa G”, to come in from outside and join the pair in the studio during Friday morning’s show.
The superstar complained “Oh my goodness, I’m dying”, after Papa G boasted about his daughter’s early songwriting skills.
“She was a very childish child to begin with”, Papa G said.
“But she was very determined. We could see it in her when she was four. She would stand in front of the piano and just bang on the keys.
These are good. Thanking you @LadyGaga for coming in this morning #GagaOnGrimmy pic.twitter.com/qETKmk1qO4

“I used to play Money by Pink Floyd. She wrote her first song. It was called Dollar Bill. We still have it.”
The Poker Face singer told fans to visit her father’s Italian restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, if they are in New York, to sample the “meatballs”, while he also plugged his new cookbook.
“My dad’s talking about his cookbook. My single’s out today!,” Gaga said.
And she added: “I’m so embarrassed!”
