Taylor Swift’s post-album break may finally be over as the pop star is apparently back in the studio working on a follow-up to 1989.
Her beloved “girl squad” member, the supermodel Gigi Hadid, let the cat out of the bag at New York Fashion Week, telling Entertainment Weekly how grateful she was that Taylor came to her show.
“She’s obviously such a great friend, and you know she is starting to go back to work in the studio again, and really made time to be here for me, and I am so grateful for that,” she said.
It has been an unusually long time since the Blank Space singer blessed her fans with new music. Since 2006 she has released a new record every two years in the autumn, but 1989 came out in 2014 and there will be no new album for 2016.
Taylor previously announced her hopes of taking a break after her blockbuster 1989 world tour, telling Vogue: “I think I should take some time off. People might need a break from me.
“I’m going to hang out with friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”
