If anyone can carry off a vertically-striped long-sleeved polo neck dress in red and black with sequins, it’s Nicole Kidman.

All eyes were on the actress at the premiere of her film Lion at Toronto International Film Festival.

In her Nica Ricci dress, Nicole clashed just a little bit with co-star Rooney Mara – but neither of them seemed to mind.

The drama tells the real-life story of Saroo Brierley, who was adopted by an Australian couple after being separated from his family in India aged five, and then located his original home using Google Earth 25 years later.

Nicole, who plays Saroo’s adopted mother, said she wanted to appear in the film because the story was “so powerful and true”.

Lion will have its UK premiere on October 12.
