Will we ever see Daniel Radcliffe bespectacled and back at Hogwarts? The actor isn’t ruling it out.

He made his name playing Harry Potter in the adaptations of JK Rowling’s books as a child, but since then Daniel, 27, has distanced himself from the role by taking on projects such as theatre production Equus, where he stripped naked, and upcoming skinhead thriller Imperium.

But now that the world of Potter has hit the stage in West End play Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, the question of whether we’ll see Daniel back on his broomstick for a big screen version of the tale is up in the air.

He told The Hollywood Reporter: “I’m never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it.

“At the moment it’s not even a concern because I’m too young to play the character, but even in 10 years’ time I would still feel strange about going back to it.

“There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to Potter, there’s a chance we’d make what Star Wars: The Force Awakens was to the original Star Wars, but there’s also the chance that we’d make The Phantom Menace. So I don’t want to go back to anything like that and maybe sour what people have already loved.”

Daniel mentioned that he thought stage Potter Jamie Parker would be a good fit to carry over into a film adaptation, and also said that he didn’t know much about the upcoming film of Potter spin-off book Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Asked whether he had any tips for Fantastic Beasts star Eddie Redmayne, he said: “He’s an Oscar winner, dude, he doesn’t need my advice.”
