It’s a quieter day for the Irish Paralympic team in Rio today but Nicole Turner starts the Irish off by participating in her fourth event of the Games.

After her seventh place finish in the final of the 200-metre individual medley final last night, the 14-year old goes in the heats of the 400-metre freestyle at 1.55pm.

Ailbhe Kelly has had a disappointing Games so far, but today competes in what she considers her best event, the 100-metre backstroke, at 3.16pm.

John Twomey, Ian Costelloe and Austin O’Carroll begin the second day of sonar sailing from twelfth overall.

And Philip Eaglesham is in qualification action in the shooting mixed 10 metre rifle prone event.
