People are being encouraged to become tourists in their own towns and cities tonight for Culture Night.

From 5pm until 11pm you will be able to experience arts and culture in over 40 towns and cities free of charge.

Over 3,000 events are taking place in museums, galleries, theatres and churches around the country.

Culture Night Coordinator is Aimée Van Wylick: “We liaise with all the regional arts offices and local authorities to ensure that as many organisations open up and as many artists participate on the night so it is an all Island effort.

“And it is brilliant to see because it is just one night only of the year, where everybody is coming together to give something back to the public.

“It is a free night and it is a very postive night also for the creative sector.”
