Jimmy Fallon got his hands on Donald Trump’s famous mop after inviting the presidential candidate on The Tonight Show.
Fallon was granted permission to mess up the Republican candidate’s hair – a gesture that did not go down well with viewers.
Many accused the talk show host of “normalising” Trump, treating him as he had any other celebrity guest and failing to address controversial statements the businessman-turned-politician has made – particularly around immigration laws.
honestly shame on jimmy fallon & any other entertainer that treats trump like any other celebrity guest

Jimmy Fallon inviting Trump on is part of the normalizing of hate. Should be ashamed of himself. Lost all respect from me.

When you are neutral in the presence of racism and bigotry, you are part of the problem Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon: Don't put Trump on TV & treat him like a buddy & muss his hair. It humanizes a monster. Stop it.

I don't fault Jimmy Fallon for not being a journalist. I do fault him for his willingness to serve as hell's court jester.

Some saw the hair-ruffle as a symptom of a wider problem.
Fallon represents our collective failure to ask for anything more than memes and click bait garbage. pic.twitter.com/1Y7CNmTUCq

People thought he wouldn’t get away with doing the same to Hillary Clinton…
I bet Hillary wouldn't let Jimmy Fallon mess up her hair #MAGA #merica #Trump

@realDonaldTrump has such a great sense of humor. He just let Jimmy Fallon mess up his hair. Hillary would scream and run

If Jimmy Fallon tried to lay a finger on Hillary's hair to mess it up, he'd be suddenly and mysteriously DEAD the next day

But in fact, he already did.
The hair’s real; the color’s not. Hillary’s impression of Donald Trump on @FallonTonight:https://t.co/GoyE02ZrOg
