The global fashion week shows are never a let-down when it comes to the more bizarre side of style, and for Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid things got pretty extreme at the Marc Jacobs show.
The stunning models and best friends led the model charge on the runway for the US designer, but their beauty was overshadowed by the impressively oversized and multi-coloured handcrafted dreadlock-inspired wigs on their heads.
Kendall, Gigi and the other models – including Gigi’s sister Bella and Brit model Jourdan Dunn – definitely had a look of 1980s-era Boy George about them, that’s for sure, or Helena Bonham Carter.
They were also painted with a heavy amount of colourful make-up, a bold aesthetic that worked with MJ’s funky designs.
Fashion spectators – including the likes of Demi Lovato, Sofia Coppola and Christina Ricci on the front row – were taken back to a retro era combined with a futuristic vibe.
Models wore insanely large platform boots with bare legs, or knee-high socks in a variety of shades, while clothes were clashing and layered and just a bit crazy… but in a good way.
Big shoulders were combined with tiny hemlines and miniature shorts, a look that Marc Jacobs is clearly championing for Spring/Summer 2017.
Is this a look you’ll be rocking next year?
