Tiernan O’Halloran had scored the only try for the reigning champions on the 13th minute, with Jack Carty converting before kicking a penalty on the 21st minute.
However, they were trailing thanks to tries from Tommaso Boni, Maxime Mbanda and Jacopo Sarto for the Italians all before the first half hour, with Carlo Canna converting two of them and kicking a penalty before the break.
However, just minutes into the second half the referee decided to pause the game because of the heavy rain and thunderstorms, but as conditions didn’t improve it was decided to call off the game.
A date for a replay has yet to be fixed.
