Jobs Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor is being urged to outline the Government’s plan to deal with the fallout from Brexit.

Fianna Fáil is calling for the Minister to appear before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation on the issue.

Irish companies export €14m worth of goods and provide services worth €20bn to the UK every year.

Fianna Fáil spokesperson on jobs Niall Collins said that Brexit poses a real threat to Ireland’s economic stability.

“At the moment, businesses are just looking into a huge unknown, and we have a lack of leadership and a lack of a plan,” he said.

“So it’s time now that the Government came forward with their proposals.

“We in the Fianna Fáil party will be discussing this next week at our two-day conference in Carlow, because it’s central to our country’s future, how we cope with the fallout from Brexit.”
