Poldark viewers have complained of being unable to understand new character Captain McNeil’s Scottish accent.
Bristolian actor Henry Garrett made his first appearance in the BBC One drama on Sunday night but was faced with a deluge of complaints over his attempts at Scottish pronunciations.
One viewer said it sounded as if he was speaking “another language”.
And Loose Women panellist Kaye Adams tweeted: “This is weird. I can’t understand the Scottish accent on #Poldark. I thought I was Scottish.”
Is #Poldark soldier meant to be Scottish? Appears to be speaking another language

Meanwhile, opinions were split over his moustache.
Liking the handsome fella with the tache on #Poldark but not his dodgy Scottish (I think) accent!

Not sure what's worse about this soldier - his 'tache or his ABYSMAL SCOTTISH ACCENT #Poldark
