Opposition leaders are writing to the Taoiseach this evening outlining plans for the State’s inquiry into the sale of Nama loans.

Parties were given until this evening to make submissions to the Government about the format the inquiry should take.

In their submission, the Social Democrats called for special laws to be passed so that the investigation would not be limited by legal privilege.

Independent TD Mick Wallace has called for the inquiry to investigate recent claims that several Nama staff were involved in leaking commercially sensitive information.

The Commission of Investigation will be set up after agreement between the Taoiseach and opposition leaders last week.
