Former Tipperary footballer manager Peter Creedon has agreed to take charge of the Laois footballers, writes Stephen Barry.
Tipperary football has been on the up in recent years, with Laois knocked out of the championship by the Premier county in 2010 and 2014.
Creedon was at the helm for the latter victory, a 3-17 to 4-9 thriller, which may well have made an impression on the Laois board.
Creedon’s tenure, which lasted from April 2012 to July 2015, saw Tipp reach the round 4 qualifiers on two occasions.
The Cork native, who is the principal of Coláiste Dún Iascaigh in Cahir, also won league silverware in 2014, beating Clare in the Division 4 final.
He resigned last summer after a 12-point loss to Tyrone ended their championship at the round 3 stage.

Michael McGeehin, who was previously a physical coach with Laois, rejoins the county alongside Creedon.
He has also experience working with his native Donegal, Mayo, Fermanagh, Limerick and Clare, as well as with Creedon in Tipperary.
Mick Lillis led Laois last season, his one-year term ended by Dublin in Leinster and Clare in the round 2 qualifiers.
The O’Moore County had previously beaten Armagh in a two-game saga, after the first game was declared void, and Wicklow.
Creedon will prepare for the 2017 championship in Division 3 of the league, as Laois were relegated this spring.
