Singer Sinead O’Connor is one of 101 taxpayers who have been caught for the under declaration of tax.

The ‘Nothing compares to you’ musician has settled with the Revenue for €160,000.

Ms O’Connor, who has an address of Montebello, Strand Road, Bray, Co Wicklow owed €90,000 in tax.

A total of 17.44m was collected by the Revenue in settlements.

Of the 101 cases gathered between April and June of this year, 42 contained amounts exceeding €100,000, with five exceeding €500,00 and two cases exceeded €1million.

Three of the settlements relate to investigations of Offshore Assets/Funds.

James Farrell, of Oldcastle Road, Kells, Co Meath made the largest single settlement of €1.4m in relation to non-declaration of Capital Gains Tax & VAT.

Mr Farrell is a retired company director.
