Talks between unions and management at Dublin Bus have adjourned for the night, but not without progress.

Unions have set aside four days for negotiation before the next planned strike on Saturday.

The NBRU’s general secretary Dermot O’Leary is hopeful a deal can be reached.

“We postponed industrial action on the basis that we would be confident going in there having listened to the WRC and their words to us yesterday that there was something that could be done here in order to resolve this dispute,” he said.

“Look, it won’t be easy obviously, there’s a gap between us that’s significant, but if the company are coming in with the same positive frame of mind that they did with the WRC yesterday, in separate talks, the obviously you would be confident, or hopeful at the very least, that you would get a result here, you know?”
