An late evening rescue was carried out by the Crosshaven RNLI yesterday when a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) crashed at sea writes Roisin Burke.
The RIB, which had two people on board, hit a navigation buoy, near Tivoli in Cork city.
The report issued to the RNLI also said that there was a casuality aboard the vessel and first aid assistance was required.
The RNLI crew made their way to the city where they met the RIB at the City marina.
The crew administered first aid until an emergecy ambulance arrived and transported the casualty to hospital.
The RNLI then escorted the damaged RIB back to Crosshaven and returned to their station.
