Three people were rescued last night from Croagh Patrick after getting lost on the Mayo mountain.

Malin Coast Guard received a call for assistance from a stranded woman and two female teenagers at around 9.20pm.

A spokesperson for the Coast Guard said they become disoriented while descending the mountain due to the darkness of the night.

They were taken to Mayo University Hospital but are not thought to have suffered any injuries.
