You don’t have to be mad to be a goalkeeper, but it helps, writes Stephen Barry.

As Google itself will tell you, goalkeepers are, well, different…

So when it comes to a showdown of ‘keeper versus ‘keeper, it’s the ultimate in mind games.

That’s how it turned out when Oulart-the-Ballagh’s Conor O’Leary stepped forward to take a penalty against Ferns’ shot-stopper Michael Walsh in the Wexford Senior Hurling Championship semi-final.

The mind games didn’t quite work out as Oulart advanced to the final with a 4-16 to 0-17 victory.
