Anthony Daly has recruited a formidable backroom team to aid him in his bid to regain the Clare manager’s job.

According to Clare FM, the former All Ireland winning captain has convinced his former teammate Brian Lohan to join his prospective staff along with former Tipperary All-Ireland winner Tommy Dunne.

Daly faces stiff competition to return to the job that he previously held from 2003 to 2006.

It’s understood that the three-time Under-21 All Ireland winning management team of Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor were also nominated.

Yesterday was the deadline for nominations to replace Davy Fitzgerald, with a decision on a successor expected later this month.
