Ireland’s unemployment rate has dropped below 8%, according to the Central Statistics Office.
The CSO figures show there were 172,900 people in search of work last month, a drop from 180,200 in August.
It marks a decline of 24,000 in the number of people unemployed on September 2015.
While the main unemployment rate dropped to 7.9%, the youth unemployment rate for people aged 15-24 years was 15.9% last month, a drop from 17% in August.
