Guardians Of The Galaxy has earned the dubious honour of being the deadliest film ever – and director James Gunn seems quite pleased.
The 2014 superhero flick kills off more people that any other movie – a whopping 83,871.
That hefty body count is mainly thanks to 80,000 Nova Corps pilots being wiped out by the Dark Aster.
After GoCompare compiled the ranking of deadly films, James tweeted:
So I guess #GotG is now the deadliest film in movie history. By, like, a lot. Um, yay? 😳 https://t.co/pG5mAEJSYR

When asked if the sequel would manage to top the staggering death count, he quipped: “No.”

The tally of casualties in Guardians far outstrips those in the second deadliest film, 2014′s Dracula Untold. The death tally stands at a mere 5,687 in that movie.
