Londoner Daniel Kaluuya stars in the Jordan Peele-directed horror film Get Out – a zombie film without any actual zombies.
The first trailer shows Chris, played by Daniel, travelling to white American suburbia where he finds himself in eerie settings surrounded by dead-eyed people, reminiscent of The Stepford Wives.
At first it seems the tension in the film might stem from his girlfriend Rose’s parents not accepting her interracial relationship, but upon arriving at their house things get a bit… weirder.
There’s definitely something sinister going on, which is confirmed when Chris’s friend tells him “apparently, a whole bunch of brothers have been missing in this suburb…”
Comedian and writer Jordan promised the film would tackle “the fears of being a black man today”, and Daniel, 27, who also had roles in Johnny English Reborn, Kick-Ass 2 and Black Mirror, definitely conveys that fear in the trailer.
Get Out is expected to be released in 2017.
