Emeli Sande is back in a big way.

With her new album Long Live The Angels due for release on November 11, the Scottish singer-songwriter has released the video for the album’s first single, Hurts.

It’s quite something.

The high-contrast imagery, shot by Next To Me director Charles Mehling, accentuates the raw, intense emotion that explodes from the track – and the song itself gives us huge hope for Emeli’s second album.

The 29-year-old had hardly been heard from in the three years since her 7x platinum debut Our Version Of Events, other than a few features, and despite the raging success of it Emeli says she’s happier with this one.

“I’m proud of my first album and thankful for the experiences it gave me. But I’m so much happier with my new album and with where I am in life,” she said.
