The Republic of Ireland will welcome Uruguay to the Aviva Stadium for an international friendly on Sunday, June 4, 2017.

Martin O’Neill’s team will take on the two-time World champions in what will be a warm-up game to the FIFA 2018 World Cup Qualifier against Austria on Sunday, June 11 in Aviva Stadium.

Placed ninth in the FIFA World Rankings, Uruguay are led by one of the world’s best players in Barcelona forward Luis Suarez and currently sit top of the World Cup qualifying table for South American teams.

The game will see Uruguay visit the Aviva Stadium for the second time having previously played Ireland on 29 March, 2011.
