A male motorcyclist in his 50s has been killed in Roscommon.

The motorcyclist was fatally injured when his bike was involved in a collision with a tractor on the N5 between Strokestown and Scramoge Cross at around 8pm.

The man died at the scene.

The road remains closed this for examination this evening.
