A woman has died after a three-vehicle road accident in Co Westmeath this afternoon.
The collision happened at Hiskinstown, Delvin at around 3.30pm this afternoon. Two cars and a truck were involved in the collision.
A female driver, in her 20s, of one of the cars involved was pronounced dead at the scene, while her female passenger, also in her 20s, has been taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar where her injuries are described as serious.
The female driver of the second car, who was alone in the car, has been airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in a serious condition.
The male truck driver was uninjured.
Gardaí have closed the road for a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
