In his 40 years, Lennon made an immeasurable impact to the music industry for being a co-founder and one quarter of The Beatles along with Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.

He went on to have a successful solo career, with unforgettable tracks such as Imagine and (Just Like) Starting Over, and became known for his efforts as a peace activist.

It was all happiness and love on social media as thousands of Lennon’s admirers took to the site to share videos, pictures, favourite songs and memories of the music legend.
