A second woman has died from injuries sustained in yesterday’s crash in Westmeath in which two cars and a truck collided.

A 38-year-old passenger in one of the cars died at the scene yesterday. (Initial garda reports said the driver had died.)

Overnight, the 25-year-old driver of that car died at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar as a result of injuries from the crash.

The driver of the second car, a woman who was travelling alone, was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital, where she is in a critical condition. The male truck driver was uninjured.

The crash happened at Hiskinstown, Delvin, Co Westmeath at about 3.30pm yesterday.
