Mary Berry showed us her Foolproof Cooking recipes tonight – but rather than picking up kitchen tips, it seems most viewers were wishing the Bake Off queen was their grandma.
The home baking guru may be leaving The Great British Bake Off when it moves to Channel 4 from the BBC after this series, but she certainly hasn’t lost her devotees in the process.
Fronting a BBC Two show this evening in which she showed us her take on seabass, lamb burgers and fancy jelly, fans kept coming back to how perfect life would be if they were related to her.

People were also pretty impressed by her ability to fashion a barbecue from scratch.
Ah now! That's class. Mary Berry has just turned a wheelbarrow into a barbecue! And she's cooking perfect burgers.

Mary Berry is the new Bear Grylls - she's caught 2 crayfish with a stick, now she's built a barbecue with a wheelbarrow & 4 bricks. 💪

And as ever, we all reckon she’s pretty much the most stylish octogenarian around.

We hope the BBC has plenty more Berry-fronted series lined up to help us cope with our withdrawal symptoms when her reign at Bake Off comes to an end.
