No soap does creepy quite like Hollyoaks, and it looks like viewers will be watching from behind their sofas this Halloween if a scary new trailer is anything to go by.
The Channel 4 soap launched a new advert today for the special spooky storyline that will air at the end of the month, and we’re almost too afraid to watch.
It features Jennifer Metcalfe who plays Mercedes, Duncan James as Ryan, Jamie Lomas as Warren, and Davinia Taylor, who recently returned to the role of Jude.
And of course, like all the best Hollyoaks fright fests, it includes village villains Sienna (Anna Passey) and Nico (Persephone Swales-Dawson) looking at their most horrifying.
Look out for the Hollyoaks Halloween Spooktacular, an event organised by Jude which has a terrifying maze that nobody wants to get lost in and a Ferris wheel.
The trailer shows some of the soap’s most famous characters wearing spooky Halloween make-up as a creepy tune plays in the background, and characters emerge from the shadows at the party suggesting the drama that is to come.
It was produced at a filming day in Liverpool and previous conceptual trailers for the soap have included the bus crash (2012), train crash (2014) and last year’s 20th anniversary episodes around Pride and a death-defying water stunt.
Hollyoaks’ Halloween episodes are set to air from the week beginning October 31 and the trailer debuted today on the programme’s social media pages, with the first TV broadcast of it after tonight’s Channel 4 episode at 6.30pm.
