The new Clare management team have confirmed that Donal Og Cusack will be part of their coaching ticket for 2017.
Donal Moloney and Gerry O’Connor were ratified for a two-year term in charge by the county board last night.
Cusack worked under Davy Fitzgerald last year and will remain on for next season.
This morning Maloney praised the impact the All-Ireland winner has had on the Clare squad so far.
“He has a profound impact on the skill sets of some of the players,” Moloney told RTE’s Morning Ireland. “He brought a different perspective to the table when Davy brought him in last year
“From speaking to some of the players, I think he has had a significant impact on helping them better themselves and that’s essentially the value that we saw that Donal would bring to the table.”
“He has a lot of experience from last year, working with the seniors, working with Davy.”
Elsewhere in the GAA, former Kerry and Munster Chairman Sean Walsh has been nominated to run for President by the Kingdoms county board.
Walsh who’s currently chairman of the National Referees Development Committee went for election last time out but lost out to Cavan’s Aogán Ó Fearghail .
