Fans of The Great British Bake Off have been left crying into their pork pies as Benjamina Ebuehi has become the eighth contestant to be eliminated from the tent.
The clever and canny baker had previously wowed the judges with her unique bakes, but she fell at the quarter-final hurdle during Tudor Week.
Things started to unravel for her in the signature challenge, when judge Paul Hollywood commented that her chipotle pork and spiced black bean pies looked “rushed”.
She also failed to impress with her Tudor jumbles in the technical challenge, coming fourth out of five, and her marzipan showstopper was described as “quite doughy”.
In tears after being handed her fate, fans at home on Twitter were pretty much just as devastated as they had to say goodbye to one of their favourites.
