Candice Brown, one of the five remaining bakers in the quarter-finals of The Great British Bake Off, made sure to go all-out with a peacock-shaped showstopper during Tudor Week.

The lovable lipstick-wearing contestant followed in the footsteps of last year’s champion Nadiya Hussain by creating the birdy bake for the marzipan-related challenge.

But, instead of fans being in awe of her creation, viewers were going wild on Twitter over judge Mary Berry’s utter enthusiasm for the cake.

Candice joked about how many peacock cakes she had created in recent days, suggesting that her whole family had been eating bits of peacock for breakfast and lunch.

The best moment then came when Mary suggested for lunch: “Peacock sarnies?”

Social media, understandably, was gleeful, at one of her new most memorable moments.

Fans were generally in awe of Candice’s creation, too. Well done, girl.

So, will you be trying peacock sandwiches, or nah?
