Last week tickets for Coldplay’s 2017 Croke Park gig sold out in just 30 minutes, shortly after that the band announced a string of extra European dates but sadly left us out.

Since then candles have been lit by unlucky fans up and down the country for the chance of another date – turns out, it won’t be happening.

MCD boss Denis Desmond has announced today that “there won’t be another gig”.

“They are too busy,” he added.

“The band is playing only 15 gigs in Europe next Summer and only two in the UK.”
