A woman in her 60’s has died following a road crash in County Mayo.

A car and a tractor collided near Claremorris at 9pm last night.

The woman – who was the driver of the car – was seriously injured and taken to Mayo University Hospital where she passed away this morning.

The male driver of the tractor – who is in his 50’s – was uninjured.

The road between Claremorris and Balla is closed for a Forensic examination and diversions are in place.
