Six TDs could be facing disciplinary action for breaches of the Dáil dress code.
The TDs from the Anti-Austerity Alliance-People Before Profit could be sanctioned for wearing jumpers with the slogan ‘REPEAL’, referring to the 8th Amendment.
The Dáil’s disciplinary committee is now investigating whether the jumpers were a breach of House rules.
But TD Paul Murphy, who wore the jumper, doesn’t believe action is likely: “Yeah I don’t think there will or there can be any sanction for us wearing the repeal jumpers, if there was to be I don’t think there would be any sanction for it and we would object to it in the strongest possible terms.
“We would take whatever road of appeal we could, but I don’t think that’s going to happen here.”
