Naga Munchetty has admitted she has not let herself cry since being eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing as she fears that if she started, she would not stop.

The BBC Breakfast presenter was voted out of the BBC competition after all four judges chose to save singer Anastacia in Sunday night’s dance-off.

She is the fourth celebrity to leave the dancefloor.

Appearing on BBC Two spin-off show It Takes Two, Naga admitted she was still feeling “pretty bad” a day after her exit.

“Bit heartbroken. Gutted,” she told host Zoe Ball.

But Naga – who had been paired with professional dancer Pasha Kovalev – insisted she would not shed a tear because “if it starts it won’t stop, so there is just no point”.

On Saturday night, Naga and Pasha danced a colourful Charleston in ocean-themed fancy dress to Minnie The Mermaid by Firehouse Five Plus Two, earning a score of 24 from the judges.

But when the judges were asked to make their decision on the dance-off, the scales tipped in favour of Anastacia and Brendan Cole’s passionate rumba to The Way We Were by Barbra Streisand.

However, Naga said she was “really really happy” with the way she danced.

She said: “I knew the steps and I really had enjoyed doing it. I felt confident.

“Not confident that we would get through because you just cant tell what’s going to happen but I knew that we were going to go out and do it and do it well, and I think we did.”

She also said she loved doing the lifts and was wearing her bruises as “badges of honour”.

Naga said she could not pick one remaining celebrity to win the glitterball trophy as everybody was working so hard.

“I’m rooting for them all,” she said.
