Just months after Drake’s fourth studio album Views overtook Beyonce as the most streamed album of 2016 on Apple music, he’s collected another accolade.
One Dance is now the most streamed song ever on Spotify with 880,392,579 plays. Lean On from Major Lazer (feat. MØ & DJ Snake) came a close second with 874,970,881 plays.
The anthem stayed at number one in the UK for 15 weeks, falling a week short of equalling the 16-week record for Bryan Adams’ Everything I Do, I Do It for You. The 25-year-old track was the soundtrack from 1991 film, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
Drake was knocked off the UK chart top spot by fellow Canadian Justin Bieber with Cold Water, a collaboration with Major Lazer and MØ.
