Goal has appointed a new General Manager.

Celine Fitzgerald is being taken on for just one year to guide the charity through a “transition”, according to a statement released this morning.

In the next 12 months they will try to recruit a new CEO to take over from Barry Andrews who announced last week he was stepping aside.

Mr Andrews said he wanted to give Goal a “fresh start” while it deals with a US inquiry into its operations in Syria.

Celine Fitzgerald currently sits as a non-executive director on the boards of both VHI and Ervia.
