The Great British Bake Off star Selasi Gbormittah has revealed he plans to combine his love of both baking and motorbikes after the final episode airs, and set off on an adventure round Europe.

Selasi, who works in a bank, is then hoping to put all the recipes he learns on his biking and baking tour into a book.

The contestant, who is originally from Ghana, will join Andrew Smyth, Candice Brown and Jane Beedle in the semi-final of the show on Wednesday in the hope of winning a coveted place in the final.

He told the Radio Times: “I do love banking, but I’m hoping to open a bakery somewhere in west London in the foreseeable future. My immediate adventure, however, is a motorbike/baking tour across Europe, which I’m currently planning.”

Andrew, who is an aerospace engineer for Rolls-Royce, said taking part in the show has made him want to combine his two passions.

He said: “I’m still getting used to being recognised in the street and I’ve never been more conscious of what’s in my shopping basket.

“I absolutely want to do more baking, be that on TV, maybe a book, or just having fun mixing the creativity of engineering with the alchemy of baking.”

Jane, a garden designer, said she is also adapting to her new fame, telling the magazine: “Getting spotted in the street is an absolute pleasure – it’s a show that makes people very happy.

“I’d quite like to do a recipe book and have started putting together some of my family recipes, but we shall see.”
