The President of the AGSI has said they have had no contact from Garda HQ since their industrial action was announced.
Antoinette Cunningham claims that senior management in the force have yet to discuss contingency plans with frontline staff for strike days next month.
GardaĆ are planning to withdraw their labour on four days in November, but the Garda Commissioner Noirin O’Sullivan is away in San Diego at the moment at a police chiefs meeting.
Antoinette Cunningham said they are still in the dark over plans.
“We’ve had no contact absolutely, whatsoever from anyone in senior Garda management about contingency planning,” she said.
“In short, we’ve had no contact at all.
“We’re heading down from the Department of Justice today. Whether that will involve conversations around contingency planning or not, I’m not aware of that.”
