Let’s be honest, the Halloween Spooktacular is THE Strictly episode we’ve been waiting to see.
Whether it’s super spooky, daringly dramatic or just plain hilarious, every year the contestants pull out the stops to put on something really special and jazz up the competition.
But while we can’t wait to watch Judge Rinder bring a special kind of sexy to Born This Way with a paso doble, and Ore’s cheeky charleston to Bow Wow Wow’s I Want Candy, we’re still getting over these gems from Strictly history.
So let’s watch them all again…
1. Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton (2014)
Right. In. The feels. In this Wicked-inspired masterpiece, Frankie twirled around the dance floor and quite literally took to the air to pay tribute to one of Broadway’s most powerful ballads, Defying Gravity. Basically a whole show in itself, the performance topped the leader board of the week.
2. Natalie Gumede and Artem Chigvintsev (2013)
A hauntingly beautiful fairy tale dream. Dry ice may be a bit cheesey at a disco, but on this dance floor it added pure magic to Natalie and Artem’s Viennese Waltz to Devil In Me.
3. Judy Murray and Anton du Beke (2014)
Poor old Judy struggled with the actual dance moves throughout the competition, but she nailed her own sassy version of Disney villain Cruella De Vil, and bringing two real Dalmatians on stage definitely won everybody over.
4. Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev (2010)
It’s one of the West End’s most emotional love stories and they did it justice. Kara and Artem’s passionate, and pretty much perfect, paso doble to The Phantom Of The Opera sent everybody swooning.
5. Scott Mills and Joanne Clifton (2014)
It was bizarre, and technicality certainly wasn’t the strong point, but the fun nostalgia factor of Scott’s foxtrotting Uncle Fester staggering around the dance floor to The Addams Family theme song made it worth watching again and again
6. Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev (2014)
Um, why wasn’t a TV show made about Caroline and Pasha’s super groovy disco zombies? That’s our Halloween costumes for this year, sorted.
This year’s Halloween Spooktacular airs at 6.45pm on Saturday on BBC One. Good luck, everyone!
