Committed Peston On Sunday viewers may have noticed veteran journalist Robert Peston has been sporting a new look recently: a rather fetching moustache.
Not everyone is exactly a fan of the furry addition – but the broadcaster’s production team raised a smile or two when they suggested that fans “retweet to keep” or “like to lose” as they revealed his new look.
Here's the moustache @Peston has grown since his bike accident. Retweet to keep. Like to lose. Tune into @ITV at 10am for the result #peston pic.twitter.com/T3UTmIPLrr

A droll Peston responded by retweeting the quip alongside the words: “In case you have literally nothing better to do,” apparently only serving to fuel comparisons to Groucho Marx, Ned Flanders and Will Ferrell’s anchorman, Ron Burgandy.
@Peston @pestononsunday @ITV I knew it reminded me of someone... pic.twitter.com/O2SUkiag3v

Peston was compelled to grow the new facial hair after a cycling accident left him with a cut lip which made shaving difficult.
Some feel stronger about it than others. Not everyone was down on the new look however…
I like #Peston's moustache. So there.

Alas, it seems that co-presenters and viewers were alike in their displeasure, eventually voting for it to go.
OK love you so much @Peston but am not sharing a studio with that moustache... you look like an extra from True Detective. #Peston https://t.co/JcGVn03VGb

Some people just can’t handle change.
