Shane Kenny will launch his third album, ‘The Great Unknown’, in Infusion Cafe, Monck Street, Wexford, on Saturday, November 12, at 8 p.m.
THERE CAN be few harder working singer-songwriters on the contemporary Irish music scene than Shane Kenny.
About to release his third full album or all-original songs the Castlebridge man has, over the course of the last couple of years, performed all over Ireland and in the UK in his efforts to bring his electic range of songs to an ever-increasing public.
However, no matter where he performs and no matter who he performs alongside – and he has shared stages with some very formidable acts – he always makes sure that his album launches take place locally.
The Infusion Theatre, above Fusion Cafe, on Monck Street, Wexford, will provide the venue for the upcoming launch on Saturday, November 12, at 8 p.m.
The CD, ‘The Great Unknown’, will follow on from the release of ‘Lost In the Madness of Crowds’ (2009) and ‘Eight Miles Out) (2014).
It also comes in the wake of three single released through the American record label, Musik and Film.
Some of the acts Kenny has shared stages with include: the Pat McManus Band, Save Sharp (The Alarm), the Mulligan Brothers (USA), the 4 of Us, The Hot Sprockets, the Original Rudeboys, the Cabin Collective, Southern Tenant Folk Union, the Niall Toner Band, Declan O’Rourke, John Spillane and the Irish Tenors to name but a few.
The launch show will feature a number of well-known Wexford musicians in the line-up including Martin Crosbie (lead guitar/rhythm), Jay O’Sullivan (electric rhythm/lead), Aaron French (drums) and Brendan Keane (bass/backing vox).
The night will feature both acoustic and full electric performances of material taken from the new album as well as some well known tracks from Kenny’s two previous releases.
The launch will be a ‘bring your own beer’ event and the cost of admission will be €5 with albums available to buy on the night.
