THE COMMUNITY of Bunclody was left reeling on Thursday following the sudden death of 17 year-old Caitlin Davis.

A native of South Africa, Caitlin was at home at Newtownbarry, as a result of the teacher’s strike when she suffered what’s being described as a “sudden cardiac arrest”. She was rushed to the doctor and shortly before 11 a.m. the rescue 117 helicopter was called for an emergency transfer from Bunclody AFC’s grounds to Waterford University Hospital where she was sadly pronounced dead.

A full post-mortem was to be carried out, however, it is believed that the teenager suffered a cardiac arrest.

Caitlin moved to Bunclody with her parents Andrew and Debbie around four years ago. She was a student at FCJ Secondary School, along with her two sisters Pippa and Olivia, where she was in the process of repeating fifth year.
